Cooper came to Whittington in 1953 and bought Rock Farm from Charlie Mann,
son of Thomas. He was moving away, because he wanted a bigger farm. They
sold the farm in 1964 to private developers (Browns) to avoid a compulsory
purchase order by Lichfield Council for council housing.
